Prosjektbeskrivelse

The Portal has become the new hub in Lillestrøm, and is the first thing that meets you outside the trainstation. The building complex doubles as a portal as it is strategically situated between Lillestrøm Station and the Norway Trade Fairs ground. The streets have come back to life with its newly established square, shops, and eateries. The green areas between the blocks and a diagonal passage reinforce the connection between the train station and the fair grounds. In total the project consists of an office building, two residential blocks, and a hotel building with a total of 55.000sqm. The office building is associated with large and important tenants that expressed a strong wish for  central and modern premises in Lillestrøm. Almost all of the clients that worked with IARK ended up signing their contract. IARK was engaged already in the early stages of the office building and continued working with detailing, as well as creating the interiors for the tenants in collaboration with OBOS. In total, IARK has designed 17.000sqm of layouts distributed over 10 floors for all of the tenants: 3M, DNB, Skatteetaten, Bufetat, Kemnerkontoret, Nordea, BDO, Norconsult, Materna, and Jensen & Co. The latter five resultet in further interior projects. A great collaboration with LPO has resulted in flexible office spaces with the potential for idividual adaption. Together with LPO IARK has designed the common areas with its cafeteria, the chambre separee, as well as the lobby and waiting area. The interior concept, custom designed permanent inventory, and furnishing plans were created by IARK. It has been our ambition the entire time to create a connection between interior and exterior in order to achieve a holistic identity. Only approved environmentally friendly materials and energy efficient solutions were used in order to achieve the Breeam-certificate ”Very Good”.

The expression of the golden metal exterior has been translated into a signature wall inside the lobby. Here a pattern is created by the structure in combination with sound absorbing Baux sheets
