Prosjektbeskrivelse

IARK were allowed a wide scope for the interiors of Sparebank 1, Porsgrunn. When the bank was to regroup in newly renovated central premises we developed a concept based on the client’s wish to «stand out from the rest», by creating a lively atmosphere with varied interior themes. Much of the furniture and fittings are specially designed. The ground floor banking hall has adjustable height counters of Corian with oak veneer. There are designated customer workplaces, in oak, with online banking, as well as meeting rooms for clients and consultants. On building levels 2 and 3 there are open- plan workplaces with adjacent meeting areas and quiet zones, while level 4 has both meeting rooms and canteen. All areas are given distinctive design elements, reflecting various moods, to suit different tasks and working methods. Work desks are rehabilitated and re-used and much of the furniture has received a facelift in the form of new upholstery. Sparebank 1, Porsgrunn moved from 3 600 m2 with 80 employees in cell-offices to only 1 800 m2 in Storgaten 117, with open plan workplaces for all – and still retaining a ground floor bank branch.
