As one of Norway's most innovative companies, DNB has mastered the art of digital customer experience. Now they want a wider physical presence at the office in Solheimsviken in Bergen. But how can a private bank building become a warm and welcoming meeting point for employees, customers and visitors?
Needs and dreams:
DNB's core values are curious, bold and responsible. By making their entire first floor open for the public they show the world they live by them as well – They opened Cafe Viken, the perfect place for expected, unexpected and meet-cute meetings.
Cafe Viken is not an extension of DNB – it has its unique purpose and its own identity. The main mission is to give something back to the neighbourhood. DNB dreamed about creating a place that tells the public that Solheimsviken is a good place to be and a great place to work.
Insight and solution:
Cafe Viken has a strong enthusiasm for sustainable solutions, and homegrown veggies are, therefore, a must. Respect and love for nature are visible in colour use, types of furniture and art. Cafe Viken has gotten a distinctive visual identity and a big part of the interior is custom-designed.
In this digital age, nothing beats talking to a real person. This story is told through the interior and design of Cafe Viken. Technology and digitization are great, but a real conversation with real people is still incomparable.
Summarized: Make room for unexpected meetings
