Prosjektbeskrivelse

When the law firm BAHR decided to leave its old premises, an additional objective for the partners was to conduct an organizational improvement to make the working environment extra productive, and at the same time facilitate a more open and transparent office culture.

With our experienced and expert approach, IARK responded to the challenge by creating especially designed, open solutions that ensure first-rate communication between departments. Compact and efficient offices with centrally located, and easily accessible meeting rooms, as well as effective work zones provide the ability to quickly retrieve additional associates when required.

BAHR is located at the Renzo Piano building at Tjuvholmen, a structure with a distinct, solid and direct appearance. With this interior project, IARK wanted to support and reinforce the building’s original design and material components, whilst at the same time conforming to BAHR’s own requirements.

The result is one of the most modern and transparent law offices in Norway.

The Reception

Guests and visitors can take the elevator up to the 5th floor, where the reception is located adjacent to the upper part of the conference centre, spanning across two additional levels. From the conference centre there’s a superb view down through the atrium, which forms the core of the building. From this point people get a good impression of the other activities taking place throughout the premises.

The Canteen

Around the long table in the canteen, associates and employees gather for informal meals or discussions over lunch. The cafeteria provides an excellent view over the port of Oslo and receives plenty of sunlight from early morning to late afternoon.

”The way the building is organised lets me meet more colleagues in the course of a week, or even a single day, than I would do in a whole month in the former premises.”

- Helge Stemshaug, Executive Chairman, BAHR

The Materials

Although the choice of colours was subdued and quite neutral, furniture with strong and durable materials was at the centre of our attention. The expression is warm and natural as a consequence of using oak, leather and wool, in addition to other materials.

The Colour Palette

The basic palette provides a bright, Scandinavian expression with a subtle touch of orange. A lot of oak and tan brown leather in combination with ochre and sky-blue provide cool warmth to these surroundings.
